Chattanooga, Tennessee native raises $15K on Kickstarter, makes a masterful album and expands her record label to South America.

With her latest album, In The Woods, Independent recording artist and singer-songwriter Emily Kate Boyd challenges Americana with brainy narratives and layers of austere poetry. Recorded in Floyd, Virginia, Atlanta, Georgia and her new hometown, Buenos Aires, Argentina, Emily brings together the rich diversity of Americana, drawing inspiration from the Appalachian traditions Bluegrass, Folk, Country and Blues. Released under her own label, ARCA Records, In The Woods has been described as “masterful bit of austerity” (nooga.com), continuing a musical journey of her previous releases, “Vampires at Sea” (released as the band JoyScout) and “Paint My Heart White” (produced by Clay Cook of the Zac Brown Band and featuring Shawn Mullins).
