Jessica Simpson
NOT Drunk on HSN
9/18/2015 9:46 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE
WOODLAND CA (IFS) -- Having observed Ms. Simpson over the years, it is with some certainty, that she was just being Jessica. A little over excited and really a lot of fun. She sold out of her entire catalog on the show. -KHS
IT'S JUST WHO SHE ISHSN
Jessica Simpson wasn't drunk during her HSN debut and you'd know that if you watched the entire two-hour segment ... which would be more painful than eating glass.
Sources close to Jessica say the clip circulating of her giggling and slurring is just part of her personality that surfaces from time to time. They say for the lion's share of her time on the show, she was lucid and polished.
They say 2 hours without a script creates inevitable less than perfect moments.
An HSN source also says she was not drunk.
Fact is ... HSN is singing her praises, saying Jessica really knows how to drive a sale.

Grace Jones upcoming autobiography ‘I’ll Never Write My Memoirs'
Grace Jones Hits Out At Today’s Popstars Including Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga & Rihanna
BY ADMIN_US · SEPTEMBER 10, 2015
Iconic singer Grace Jones has hit out at several of todays pop stars in her upcoming autobiography ‘I’ll Never Write My Memoirs’.
Grace Jones released an extract of from her new book, out September 29th, viaTime Out Magazine.
In the extract, Jones states how trends “come along” and go and how she’s been copied by modern pop stars who have no “long-term vision”.
Jones writes, “Trends come along and people say, ‘Follow that trend’. There’s a lot of that around at the moment: ‘Be like Sasha Fierce (Beyonce). Be like Miley Cyrus. Be like Rihanna. Be like Lady Gaga. Be like Rita Ora and Sia. Be likeMadonna.’ I cannot be like them – except to the extent that they are already being like me.”

“I have been so copied by those people who have made fortunes that people assume I am that rich. But I did things for the excitement, the dare, the fact that it was new, not for the money, and too many times I was the first, not the beneficiary.”
Jones adds, “The problem with… the Nicki Minajes and Mileys is that they reach their goal very quickly. There is no long-term vision, and they forget that once you get into that whirlpool then you have to fight the system that solidifies around you in order to keep being the outsider you claim you represent. There will always be a replacement coming along very soon – a newer version, a crazier version, a louder version. So if you haven’t got a long-term plan, then you are merely a passing phase, the latest trend, yesterday’s event.”
Jones also hit out at the the likes of Kanye West, Katy Perry and FKA Twigs as her “pupils”, offering the advice: “This is what I would say to my pupil: you have become only your fame, and left behind most of who you were. How are you going to deal with that? Will you lose that person forever? Have you become someone else, without really knowing it? Do you always have to stay in character for people to like you? Do you know that you are in character?
“I would say fame is all well and good if you want to take it to another level. If you have some greater purpose. Me, I am just a singer, on one sort of stage or another, who likes to have an audience, but not all the time. Listen to my advice; I have some experience. In a way, it is me being a teacher, which is what I wanted to be. I still feel I could go into teaching. What is teaching but passing on your knowledge to those who are at the beginning? Some people are born with that gift. With me, the teaching side morphed into the performing side. It’s in there.”
What do you think about the extract? Do you think Grace Jones is right? Let us know what side you’re on and leave a comment!

Anita Ekberg Revisited
ANITA EKBERG, STAR OF "LA DOLCE VITA", DEAD AT AGE 83
BY LEE PFEIFFER
The cruel loss of legendary cinematic figures continues into the new year with the death of Anita Ekberg in Italy at age 83. The precise cause of death is not known at this time but she had suffered from a long illness. Ekberg was Swedish by birth but was often mistaken as a native of Italy because of her close association with Fellini and his films. She was named Miss Sweden as a teenager and competed in the Miss Universe contest before her statuesque figure ensured a career in show business during an era when full-bosomed sex sirens were all the rage. Hollywood studios were particularly on the lookout for the next exotic European beauty and Ekberg filled the bill perfectly. She slogged through bit parts uncredited in major studio productions before landing a prominent role opposite John Wayne and Lauren Bacall in the 1955 hit "Blood Alley" (in which she played a Chinese woman!) This opened doors and she went on to appear in other Hollywood hits including "Back From Eternity", "War and Peace" and the Martin and Lewis smash "Artists and Models". She would reunite on screen with the comedy team for "Hollywood or Bust". She received above-the-title billing in the 1956 adventure film "Zarak" opposite Victor Mature for future James Bond producer Albert R. Broccoli. However, it was the Fellini classic "La Dolce Vita" that made her a household name in 1960. In the film's most memorable sequence, she cavorts in the Trevi Fountain with Marcello Mastroianni while attired in a gown. Photos of the sequence remain an iconic part of film history. After "Vita", Ekberg's star burned brightly but briefly. She reunited with Fellini for a segment of the 1962 film "Boccaccio '70". She appeared opposite Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin in the hit western spoof "4 For Texas" and opposite Tony Randall in "The Alphabet Murders". She had a starring role in the 1963 comedy "Call Me Bwana" with Bob Hope. The film was produced by Broccoli, now in partnership with Harry Saltzman. (It remained the only non-Bond film the men would produce during the years of their partnership). She also had a prominent role in the Jerry Lewis comedy "Way...Way...Out". By the late 1960s, however, her star had faded in English language cinema and she concentrated on starring in European productions that were often made on low budgets. Her last credited screen role was in "The Red Dwarf" in 1998.
Ekberg's love life was the stuff of dreams for the tabloid press. She had affairs with prominent male stars such as Yul Brynner and Frank Sinatra. She was married for three years to British actor Anthony Steel and was married for over a decade to American actor Rik Van Nutter, who is primarily known for playing CIA man Felix Leiter in the Broccoli-Saltzman James Bond blockbuster "Thunderball" in 1965. Supposedly, Broccoli, who was dining with Ekberg and Van Nutter, offered him the role over dinner on a whim. It was a James Bond film, "From Russia With Love", that played an important role in Ekberg's career, though-bizarrely- she never appeared in the movie, at least in the flesh. In a pivotal sequence, a Soviet agent is assassinated when he tries to climb out a window of an Istanbul apartment house, the wall of which is adorned with a giant promotion of Ekberg in "Call Me Bwana". The clever gimmick promoted the Broccoli-Saltzman comedy that was already in release.
Ekberg's later years were anything but glamorous. In her obituary, the New York Times reports that the childless actress spent her last days in a nursing home penniless and lonely. She did, however, have one last moment in the sun when she appeared in 2010 at an Italian film festival where a restored print of "La Dolce Vita" was being shown. For at least this brief moment, her glory days returned as she made a glamorous appearance that stole the show.

Uwe Gronau
CD Review – Flight 14, by Uwe Gronau
Uwe Gronau's musical flights of fancy are always worth the price of the boarding pass, and compared to actual airfare tickets, this is a real bargain.
Kick back, relax, and let the German composer's keyboard and synthesizer textures and rhythms take you away from the world of the mundane on a journey of soft sounds and progressive tunes.
As he does on all of his albums, Gronau manages all by himself to replicate a variety of performance contexts, from solo piano to duets to a full band sound, sometimes with vocals. Sax appeal is provided by Matthias Keidel on one track.
Uwe Gronau is one of those names that you know you're in for a musical treat like no other.
--Raj Manoharan
Despite all the problems in the world today, versatile German composer and keyboardist Uwe Gronau says, “I think humans are smart enough to create a good society for future generations, and one of the keys is the utilization of music.” The theme of pondering the future helped inspire the music on Gronau’s latest album, Thoughts of Tomorrow. Gronau strongly believes that art, and specifically music, is a tie that binds together every human from all countries and cultures. “There are special things in life that can only be described by music and art. If you try to open the secrets simply with words, it is impossible, and the secret will not exist anymore. Not even the military or police could calm down the restlessness of people who have a presentiment or foreboding of life without secrets and wonder. Art is an absolute necessity for humans to live a good life on this planet.” Uwe Gronau (pronounced ooo-vuh grow-now) is a master of many musical styles with numerous eclectic recordings. His musical enthusiasm and boundless creativity cannot be contained. Primarily a keyboardist, on some tunes he plays solo piano, on others synthesizer or organ, and often he mixes together several keyboards, at times with bass, percussion, drums or other sounds. His music ranges from new age to space, from jazzy to progressive-rock, from ambient or avant-garde to extremely melodic with pop sensibilities. He only performs and records original music. Thoughts of Tomorrow was produced by Gronau with his longtime musical associate Clemens Paskert. Gronau has numerous previous CDs (some primarily available in Europe). Several are mostly instrumental music -- Midsummer, Seven Paintings, Sonnentempel, Nightwalker and Intuition. Others feature Uwe singing on many selections -- Children, The Beauty of the Sea, Someday, Ciel, Time is a Sound, Full Moon Forest and Time Rider. His latest albums -- Midsummer, Time Rider, Visions and Flight 14 -- have been marketed internationally and all have climbed into the Top 5 on the monthly international Zone Music Reporter Top 100 airplay chart. about
Points of Light album was recorded in Oakland, California in our home studio from spring of 2014-15. We painstakingly picked 10 songs for this album, out of a collection of 30 song ideas. Dennis Bestafka played on the guitars, Billy Mowery on the drums, and Tarabud was on vocals and the bass. Dennis, being an audio engineer, was able to track and mix all songs on Pro Tools. All instruments were live tracked. Final mastering of album done by The SoundLAB. Album art design was created by Billy. Poem inside album panel, written by Tarabud.
The album title means a lot to us, and is focused on constellations in the stars as a form of connectedness to the universe. Like stars in these constellations, we are all individuals tied together by fate, love, struggle and loss to shape our stories, like shapes in the night sky. As our intentions and actions either pull or push us in one direction or the other, still we become who we reach to become, through our own will guided by stars, the ethereal, the spiritual.
Conceptual lyric themes running deep within this album include: destinies written in the stars, recognition of California Native Americans, lost romances & lifestyles, innocence lost, rebirth from lost love, overcoming and dealing with self-esteem, human potentials, human interconnectedness, nature and divinity.
